I really don’t like giving keynotes.
It’s actually not the issue where people are more scared of dying than getting on stage.
It’s the prep.
You see, as a generalist, I don’t have a pre-canned talk.
Which means with every keynote, comes days (sometimes weeks) of prep.
After all, when you’re on the big stage in front of hundreds of strangers — the pressure’s on to deliver something memorable.
Will a humanoid give your talk?
Keynote speeches are probably not going away anytime soon.
In fact, as the world gets more digitized, I suspect public speaking skills are going to be worth an even bigger premium.
So keep that Toastmasters (or UltraSpeaking) membership going.
